Install Jompter

Install Jompter on an Apple Silicon Mac with macOS 13 Ventura or later: requirements, the signed download or Homebrew, and first launch.

Requirements

MacApple Silicon (M1 or newer). Intel Macs are not supported.
macOSVentura (13.0) or newer.
Disk~200 MB for the app, plus 100 MB – 3 GB per AI model you download in Local mode.
AccountNeeded for the free tier, the trial and Cloud mode. A lifetime licence can run signed out.

Download

Download for macOS from jompter.com. The button always points at the current release, and asks you to create your free account first (one click with Google). You sign in with the same account when Jompter opens.

If you prefer Homebrew:

brew install --cask anshuopinion/jompter/jompter

Releases are also mirrored publicly at github.com/anshuopinion/jompter-releases.

The download button reads the live release, so it always gives you the current version.

Install

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg.
  2. Drag Jompter into Applications.
  3. Launch it from Applications or Spotlight.

The app is signed and notarised, so macOS should open it without complaint. If Gatekeeper does object, right-click the app and choose Open once.

Updates

Jompter updates itself. It checks at launch and shows a banner when a new version is available; you can also check by hand in Settings → General → App. After installing it restarts itself. See Updating Jompter.
