What is Jompter?
Jompter is a voice-to-prompt app for Apple Silicon Macs, built for developers who work with AI coding agents. You talk, take screenshots and record your screen, and Jompter folds all of it into one Markdown prompt that Claude Code, Cursor or Codex can read, handed over directly through a local MCP server. Speech is transcribed on your Mac with open models such as Whisper, Parakeet and Nemotron, so dictation stays private and works offline. The same MCP server lets an agent draw diagrams on a Jompter board and keep a to-do list you approve. Jompter Remote, the iPhone app, shows your Mac's screen on your phone, so you can check a long agent run and dictate the next prompt away from your desk. The Mac app needs macOS 13 or later and is signed and notarized by Apple.
Why does Jompter exist?
Coding agents do their best work with full context, and typing that context is slow. A bug is easier to explain out loud, a layout problem is easier to point at, and a flicker only shows up in a recording. Dictation apps capture the words and lose the rest. Jompter was built to keep the words, the screenshot and the recording together in the one prompt the agent reads.
Who builds Jompter?
Jompter is built by Anshu Raj, a full-stack engineer and solo founder who builds the Mac app, the iPhone app and the website. Questions and bug reports sent through the support page go straight to the founder.
