Jompter adds free speech to text to Cursor on a Mac. Hold Right ⌘ and talk, and the words are typed into whichever part of Cursor has focus: the agent chat, the editor or the terminal. Transcription runs on Apple Silicon with Whisper, Parakeet or Nemotron: Nemotron streams words while you speak, and nothing needs an internet connection. A spoken prompt rarely travels alone when the problem is on screen, so Jompter keeps an annotated screenshot or a screen recording in the same prompt, and you drag it into Cursor's chat beside your words. Over MCP, Cursor can read the whole prompt, work through its to-dos and draw on a Jompter board; Jompter writes the ~/.cursor/mcp.json snippet with your port and key already in it. Dictation, prompts and the MCP hand-off are free and unlimited; it needs Apple Silicon and macOS 13 or later.

Yes. Cursor's chat has a microphone button that dictates your prompt. Jompter works alongside it: one hotkey types into any part of Cursor, including the editor and the terminal, transcribes on your Mac, and keeps a screenshot or screen recording in the same prompt as your words.
Start with macOS: open System Settings, Privacy & Security, Microphone, make sure Cursor is allowed, then quit and reopen Cursor. If it still fails, Jompter does not depend on Cursor's microphone button. It types into whatever Cursor field has focus from its own hotkey.
