Annotating a screenshot

Arrows, boxes, text and redaction — non-destructive, and re-editable later.

Click Annotate on any screenshot and Jompter opens a full-screen canvas titled Annotate · screenshot-N.

Editing

⌘Z undoes, ⌘⇧Z redoes, Backspace deletes the selection, Clear all starts over, Esc cancels, and Save writes it back to your prompt.

Annotations are stored as vectors, not painted onto the pixels. That means you can reopen a screenshot weeks later and move the arrow you drew.

Saving updates the picture where it already is. It does not add a second @screenshot-N reference to your prompt, however many times you reopen and save it.

Redaction is a blur, not a deletion

The redact tool blurs; it does not remove. The original, un-annotated capture stays on disk with the covered pixels intact, and the blur itself is a shape that can be moved.

For a screenshot containing an API key, a password or personal data, the safe move is to delete the screenshot and take a new one that never contained the secret. Only share the annotated export, and never the source file or the folder it lives in.
